Prior to joining NutriFormance & Athletic Republic, Jim worked as a personal trainer with a varied population ranging from new exercisers, athletes, and active aging adults.
Jim played collegiate basketball at Missouri Valley College for 4 years where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, double majoring in Health Wellness and Sports Management. After his senior basketball season, Jim did an internship in Missouri Valley’s weight room facility where he helped design programs and train the basketball team in the off-season. After Missouri Valley Jim attended Missouri Baptist University where he obtained his master’s degree in Exercise Science with a focus on Fitness Management. To complete the degree, Jim finished a 350-hour internship of coaching which included basketball with the St. Louis Majestics, and AAU summer team, along with volleyball and softball at the St. Charles YMCA.
Jim loves to motivate and encourage clients to break out of their comfort zone and push limits, but is also a laid back, fun trainer to work with. Outside of training, Jim loves music; you can always hear him singing a tune from his favorite songs! He also enjoys strength and conditioning and playing other sports like flag football, volleyball, and swimming recreationally.
