Training focused on improving an athlete’s in-sport performance or return to sport from an injury or long lay-off. It is all about developing a competitive advantage in sport.

Athletic Republic is the new name of Frappier Acceleration Sports Training.  Athletic Republic is the industry leader in performance sports training with over 160 training centers and more than 1,000 performance trainers providing programs appropriate for athletes of all ages.

We are 160 facilities (and growing!) nationwide and internationally.  The pioneering programs and patented equipment used in Athletic Republic’s training centers were developed over the preceding two decades by Athletic Republic President, John Frappier, M.S., Exercise Physiology, and our Chief Officer of Science and Technology, Steve Swanson, M.S., Biomechanics.

Athletic Republic is different for three reasons: over 20 years of ongoing scientific research to refine and validate performance sport training protocols; the application of our proprietary equipment; and a commitment to advanced trainer certification and continuing education programs.

Our Athletic Republic Training has “worked” for over 700,000 athletes, from the peewees to the pros, novice to varsity, or recreational to the most serious. Athletic Republic training programs have documented average performance improvements of 0.2 – 0.4 seconds in 40 yards which equates to 6’ – 10′ of separation; 4” of vertical jump height; 5 mph in throwing velocity; and significant improvements in both running efficiency.

Our training philosophy, science based approach, proprietary technology and advanced sports specific training protocols give athletes a competitive advantage by improving their speed, power and agility. We train athletes to be the best they can be, based upon their individual bodies, skill levels, goals and interest.  Our programs are custom-designed for your body type and your specific sport’s physical demands to help you reach your full potential.

The foundation of our success comes through our ASSESS/TEST-TEACH-TRAIN approach to athlete development. We provide athletes with the answers to becoming a faster, quicker and more intelligent competitor. We ASSESS athletes to determine a performance baseline and identify areas where they can create separation from their peers. We TEACH athletes the same methods used by many of today’s top professional and Olympic athletes to improve sport and position specific movement skills. What does this mean?  We TEACH athletes what they need to do to get better. How to move better – the foundation of improving athleticism.  How to train smarter – learning to listen to their body, push limits safely and to incorporate sound nutrition to fuel performance and recovery.  Essentially, we help athletes improve their Training IQ. Then we TRAIN using the most scientifically-proven programs featuring our patented technology, individualized training protocols and real-time video analysis to give every athlete the ultimate performance sports training experience

We train athletes to improve their movement skills, specifically speed, power and agility, through training programs we’ve developed based on years of research into how the body responds to particular stresses.  We offer individualized training programs, delivered in small groups with a 1:5 trainer to athlete ratio, which follow scientifically-based protocols We’ve helped develop the full potential of over 700,000 athletes to date, in closely monitored workouts. Our programs consist of 8 weeks, 6 months, or 12 months. Most of our student-athletes are training 2-3 times per week in our small group setting.

Our training equipment includes the Generation II Super Treadmill, with incline capabilities up to 40 percent grade, speed capabilities up to 28 miles per hour, superior shock absorption and various handlebars to facilitate our training protocols.  It’ll train your anaerobic capabilities, so that you can sprint and recover faster.

Our Plyo products—both Plyo Press and Plyo Platform—improve your power and agility during dynamic motions, like jumping, cutting or bounding, in a safe and effective environment.  Our patented cord technology trains you in specific sport motions, increasing power and strength and allowing you to kick, throw or hit faster and farther. The Pro Multi-Hip improves the strength of key muscles of the abdominals and hips—important but often-overlooked muscles essential to high performance.  The point is you train on custom-designed, patented equipment that provides real, measurable improvement.

We also use equipment on our turf such as plyometric boxes, speed ladders, hurdles, slide boards, cones, resistance bands, med balls/physio balls, as well as several other types of equipment. We can do everything a ground-based program can, but they can’t do everything we can with our proprietary equipment. We also have the Nike Vapor Strobes to improve athletic performance by enhancing visual skills such as focus, attention, anticipation, reaction, visualization, balance, stability, and peripheral vision. Sensory training gives players a competitive advantage so they are able to react faster and make better plays in critical situations.

LaMarr Woodley All Pro Linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers; Corey Graham, Cornerback for the Chicago Bears; Wesley Johnson, #4 Draft Choice from the 2010 NBA Draft, Jim Thome, a recent member of baseball’s 500 home run club; Lori Chalupny, Shannon Boxx, and Heather Mitts of the Women’s US National Soccer Team; Derrick Atkins, silver medalist in the 100-meter dash at the IAAF world championships; Ogonna Nnamani, professional and US Olympic volleyball player; hockey great Brett Hull, women’s National Hockey Team standout and 3 time Olympian Angela Ruggerio; NHL speedster Marian Gaborik and center Shawn Horcoff are just a few of the many noteworthy athletes who train with Athletic Republic. And for every one of the stars, there are thousands of middle school, high school and collegiate athletes who use the same equipment and follow the same training protocols. We have a trained over 2500 professional and Olympic athletes, who have come to us with the same hopes and goals for training!

The Athletic Republic programs are unique; there are no equivalent programs in the world. We use patented equipment designed for and used exclusively by our facility. The programs and protocols are scientifically designed and tested with input from exercise physiologists, orthopedic surgeons, athletic trainers, physical and occupational therapists and other professionals.  When followed according to these unique protocol designs, the Athletic Republic programs are guaranteed to improve an athlete’s performance.

The Athletic Republic programs are for athletes of all ages (starting at age 7 years old depending on physical maturity). The Programs are individually modified for each athlete’s abilities, so whether you are in middle school, junior high, high school, college, the professional leagues or a recreational athlete, you’re sure to improve speed, strength, self-confidence and overall athletic performance. Our goal is to help every participant become a better athlete no matter what level they are at when they start the training program.

Not to discourage camps, but our program is based on years of science, research, and program modifications. Also camps teach you specific skills for your sport. Our training focuses on building speed, strength, quickening jumping ability, power, and overall conditioning.

Developing scientifically valid training protocols and patented, proprietary equipment requires years of work and significant investment—you get what you pay for. We stress results and provide our athletes with the technology, training and expertise that have only been available for professional and Olympic athletes in the past. We currently offer 8 week, 6 month, and 12 month programs. We will always recommend the best program that will work for the student-athlete and their family.

Every one of our sports performance coaches is educated in physiology and/or sport science, and they maintain regular tune-ups to stay current with advances in athlete training technology.  They’re your personal coach, on hand for your workouts, monitoring your progress and fine-tuning your program to tweak you to your personal best.  We teach you to train smarter, not harder, keep you fit through your performance season and guide you through any necessary injury rehab and performance nutrition. Our coaches have played athletics at either the youth, high school, or collegiate level and have a genuine understanding of what it takes to be an athlete.

We can get you scheduled for a trial training session or Digital Video Analysis. Call Charlie at the training facility, 314.432.6103. You can also contact him by email, to schedule or if you have any more questions about the program.
