Prior to joining Athletic Republic, Michael earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science at Truman State University. While at Truman State, Michael was a freshman and sophomore scholar athlete for the Varsity soccer team. As the last part of Michael’s degree, he interned at Athletic Republic where he worked with athletes and sports teams to help develop their strength, speed and agility. Michael is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
Michael attended high school at John Burroughs School. He started on the Varsity soccer team all four years, played basketball his freshman and sophomore year, and kicked for the Varsity football team his senior year when he did not have a soccer commitment. During his soccer career at Burroughs, the soccer team won districts all four years and finished in state as quarterfinalists, second, third, and first respectively. It was during his senior year that Michael was the captain of the 2008 class 1 state soccer champions which was the first time in Burroughs history to have captured the state title in men’s soccer. In his senior year, Michael was named All-League and All-State in soccer as well as being named as a MAC All-Star.

Michael believes that there is no end to improving one’s health. Through proper fitness, one can lead a much happier and healthy life.
